Los Alcazares is a working Spanish town with all the facilities you will need, like banks, shops, restaurants etc.
It´s main attraction is the beach which extends for 5kms and has a palm lined promenade all along it´s length, the water is clear and blue flag status has been achieved.
The sea is very safe from a childs point of view as it is non tidal and fairly shallow and gently deepens as you leave the shore. Los alcazares now boasts 2 golf courses, Roda Golf & Beach resort which is a 3 minute drive from the apartment and La Serena Golf which is at the other end of town. It is now possible to have a golf and beach holiday here without driving, as taxis can take you to the courses.
Los Alcazares is well connected to the rest of Spain by way of motorway and major roads and to the outside world by 2 nearby international airports, San Javier and Alicante.

Nearby you have central square, within 5 mins walk of the apartment which has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, internet access. This area has over the last 2 years become almost a new town centre and there are new business´s opening here on a regular basis.
The beach is within 7/8 mins walk and you do not need a car if this type of holiday appeals to you
if however you do want to hire a car i can do this for you at the most competitive rates in the area.
Within a short drive you have the beautiful historic city of Cartagena which has many Roman ruins, it also has a recently restored port area, also here can be found El Cortes Ingles which is an exclusive department store. Cartagena is a fantastic city which has undergone much regeneration in the last few years. Much of the city has been pedestrianised and the Semana Santa (Easter) celebrations are nationally recognised. Also of interest here are the Roman and Cartagenians Festival which takes place in September. A little further north on the shores of the Mar menor is found Las Salinas de San Pedro where for generations people have caked themselves in the therapuetic mud and then relaxed in the warm seas of the Mar Menor. The mud is said to have many healing properties and is easily found and totally free.
Within a 2 hour drive is the Holy City of Caravaca de la Cruz which is definately worth a visit also within this sort of distance is the shrine of the Virgen in Calasparra which is a fantastic place built into the natural stone, I would however recommend a visit to the local tourist office as they can provide you with a wealth of information about what the area has to offer.
There are 2 waterparks and a safari park within driving distance in Rojales, Torrevieja and Elche. Recently TerraNatura has opened close to Murcia, this is unique in that it has a water park with a safari park next door.

Location: literally 2 minutes drive away

La Serena
Overview: another new course for Los Alcazares, opened in 2007 this is a municipal course.
Location: 5 minute drive at the southern end of the town.

La Manga
Overview: There are 3 18-hole golf courses at La Manga Club, including the championship South Course and the scenic West Course. The North course was totally refurbished last year and is brand new and absolutely superb. In the heart of La Manga Club, a 1,400 acre sporting paradise nestled between the low hills which separate the Mediterranean from the sea of La Manga del Mar Menor in the South East of Spain. The resort is set amidst lemon groves, bougainvilleas and majestic palm trees that cover some of the finest golf courses in Europe.
Probably the most famous golf resort in the World. 3 championship courses designed by Dave Thomas and Robert Putnam/Arnold Palmer, while playing at La Manga can be pretty exspensive they do offer large reductions for a twilight tee off.
Location: 20 minute drive

Mosa Trajectum
Overview: With over 800 acres it is one of the most ambitious golf-sport villa resorts in the region. This outstanding new development boasts a 27 hole golf course and many installations to practise your favourite sport: basketball, soccer, paddle, horse riding, swimming, gymnastics, athletics etc. The championship course (PGA EuroPro Tour Championship Final, October 2004) runs through the resort, through a spectacular and challenging landscape with a variety of plants and trees, cacti, open rock faces and a multitude of water features.
Location: 25 minute drive

Las Ramblas
Overview: spectacular, elevated tees, narrow fairways and lightning greens. This is a great test of golf and will be a memorable game. Las Ramblas means the old river beds, you will see plenty of these during your round! This 18-holer is on mountainous ground which makes the course very interesting for players who like to take a few risks. As it is very mountainous, it calls for difficult strokes. It is worth mentioning the many trees that surround the course, and the water hazards. There are slopes are all along the course and although some of them are very difficult, they make the game more attractive and interesting. The course is not too long and has wonderful views. Accuracy is required.
Location: 25 mins drive

Villamartin
Overview: The variety of its 18 holes, due to the excellent design, will allow you to enjoy a round of golf on this course as you will have to use the 14 clubs from your bag. Its magnificent greens are superbly kept.
Location: 30 minutes drive away

Hacienda del Alamo
Overview: New course, promoted heavily on the Golf Channel and marketed by Migule Jimenez. Challenging course.
Location: 40 mins drive

Los Alcazares (pronounced los-alcatha-res) is situated in the Murcia region of south-eastern Spain, also known as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the western shore of the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga. The area enjoys an average of 320 days of sunshine each year. Bars, cafes and restaurants provide drinks, tapas, meals and entertainment, and the warm water of the Mar Menor helps make the town a paradise for bathers and watersports enthusiasts. The mineral-rich water of the Mar Menor is revered for its health-giving properties and the town still has thermal baths which have existed since Roman times.

The fertile countryside (la huerta) inland supplies the local markets with fresh produce which is also exported to northern Europe, especially during the winter when local farmers take advantage of the comparatively warm weather. Throughout the year, the area offers boundless opportunities for sports and other activities. Golfers will be delighted that no less than seven golf courses can be found within a short drive from the town.

The town was afforded municipal autonomy on 13 October 1983. In celebration of this, each October the town puts on a week-long outdoor party featuring live music, shows and spectacular firework displays. Since 2000 the last three days in March has seen Los Alcazares take on a medieval flavour with a large medieval market and numerous events in recollection of the times of peace following the creation of effective defences against invasions of Barbary pirates during the 15th century. Throughout the last two weeks in August, the town hosts the international celebration of La Huerta when groups representing market garden areas throughout Spain and other European countries gather to display their folklore, handicrafts and prepare gastronomic feasts from their local produce.

The town is well connected to the recently upgraded Spanish motorway network and there are regular flights from and to many European cities to Murcia/San Javier International Airport which is only five minutes drive away. Alicante airport offers even more flights, and is just an hour away. 30 km to the northwest can be found the historic city of Murcia, the regions administrative centre. 15 km to the southwest lies Cartagena, a delightful Roman port city which has recently been revitalized.


 
»  Los Alcazares / Pueblo Patricia Area
El Divino is a community of about 200 properties which has many year round residents as well as holidaymakers, for this reason it is impecably maintained and reasonably quiet, it is suitable for families and couples but not "lads" or "girls" holidays as there is no "nightlife" as in "clubs" etc nearby, there are however many good restaurants and bars closeby, some of the better ones are La Encarnacion, Ramon, El Patio IV, these are all traditionally Spanish/International and there are many others specialising in cuisine from all over the world.
The complex has 2 large community pools and these are surrounded by well maintained communal gardens.
We have changed the method of payment for the air conditioning facility (only available in the lounge), it is now operated by a coin mechanism and 1 Euro will get you 2 hours of air conditioning (hot and cold), we hope that you will find this method of payment easier and good value. The bedrooms are cooled by ceiling fans in the summer and heated by an oil filled radiator in winter.
For the coming season we have installed a 5 PERSON MULTI JET HOT TUB (JACUZZI) ON THE PRIVATE ROOF SOLARIUM, this is a top quality system and we are unable to include it in the rental price, this is an optional extra charged at €60 per week, please indicate at time of booking if you wish to avail of the hot tub. We envisage this being used all year round as it is a heated system and very easy to use. We have no doubt that this will become one of the main attractions of Casa El Divino. Tiger River Hot Tubs are top of the range as they circulate the water totally and do not use compressed air like a lot of the cheaper imitations, for this reason they are of major benefit to troubled joints and limbs as well as being great fun. Forget about freezing cold swimming pools out of season and having to share them, in season, for a reasonable cost you can now have your own private hot tub on your private roof top getaway.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE EL DIVINO COMPLEX IS ALSO A RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY AND FOR THIS REASON CERTAIN COMMUNITY RULES APPLY.

arriving to Alicante airport, take the motorway south signed for Cartagena, after approx 50 mins drive you are exiting the motorway by exit 786 for Los Alcazares, you will see a large modern art archway, park up and ring 0034 638704744.

arriving to Murcia/San Javier airport head for Los Alcazares from the roundabout outside the airport, after about 5 mins you will be in Los Alcazares by a commercial centre, Las Velas, park up and ring 0034 638704744

when you are at one of the two mentioned meeting points ring 0034 638704744 and i will come and meet you with the keys

if you wish we can pick you up from both airports and return you for your departure

Arriving to Alicante airport take the AP7 south signed for Cartagena, you will pass 2 toll booths, after about 50 minutes driving you leave the motorway at exit 786 for Los Alcazares Norte, you come down to a roundabout where you go right, on to another roundabout which you go straight through and then a 3rd where you take the right, keeping the "euromarina" offices on your left, you are now on Calle isla de Tarbarca. El Divino is the first complex of apartments on righthandside of this road. Please only choose to go to the complex if you are familiar with the area

There is a satellite system installed which will enable you to keep up to date with all the TV from home, a DVD, Video player and sound system complete the entertainment package. »  Further Information / Conditions
A 25% booking deposit secures the dates you require with the balance payable on arrival in cash (€ only), we will agree this rate at the time of booking. The booking deposit is paid by lodgement or transfer at any Halifax bank. A security deposit of 100 GBP is also payable on arrival and this is refunded on departure if all is in order. The €60 weekly fee for the hot tub is optional and if required will be paid on arrival in cash, anything else please ask.

Sean We had a great time at your apartment 12-19 Sept 2009. The weather far exceeded our expectations. Wasnt expecting to be quite so hot - now we are back in the UK and it is taking quite some time getting used to these cold mornings. Dont think it went below 20c whilst we were at El Divino. Everything was as expected - we didnt want for anything whilst we were then. It was great to be able to watch GMTV in the morning and Emmerdale before we went out! Tried quite a few of the restaurants: Our favorites were El Patio & Hindustani (Indian) and Penny Farthing for breakfast! Amys also did a wicked burger!. It was great to be able to stroll down to the various bars/restaurants and the beach in minutes. We will definitely be back. Many thanks for arranging the personal transfers too - this is a bonus when arriving! Many thanks again and will recommend to family/friends

The property was excellent. Furnished lovely and with all the ammenities you would need and more to make your stay comfortable. The balcony and roof terrace both offerred wonderfull views which included the mar menor (sea). The bedrooms were decorated in a simple, classic taste and each contained ceiling fans to keep you cool during the warm nights. The bathrooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The kichen was modern and contained all you need should you decide to cook your own meals. The living area was spacious, light and airy, perfect for relaxing and watching the morning news or browsing the mqany channels the satellite box has to offer. Overall i was extremelly pleased with this property and to sum it up it was just like a home from home
